Character meme

Introducing . . . my very own character meme!

Character you'd most like to have over for tea?
Lucy Pevensie. She would tell me everything I wanted to know - and parts of the story that aren't in the book - about Narnia. OK, I admit it, I'm picturing Georgie Henley's Lucy here. . . .

Character you'd most like to have as a sibling?
Lizzie Bennett from Pride and Prejudice would be the perfect older sister! I look up to her as a character in so many ways . . . and we would talk about books when we're together and write long interesting letters to each other when we're apart.

Character you'd most like to be friends with?
Harry and Hermione. I'd be bookish with Hermione and play Quidditch with Harry. Wouldn't that be luverly....

Character you'd most like to have as a cousin?
Babymouse, of course. I put her under cousin rather than sibling, because I'm not sure I could take being around her all day every day, but once a week would be fabulous. :)

Character you'd most like to have an adventure with?
This one's a tie between Kiki from Kiki Strike and Aravis from The Horse and His Boy. I'd go with Kiki if the adventure took place in the here and now; Aravis if it took place in a magical world.

Favorite quirky character?
Luna Lovegood. '"Dad's reprinting!" she told Harry, her eyes popping excitedly. "He can't believe it, he says people seem even more interested in this than the Crumple-Horned Snorkacks!"' Enough said. (*quote from Order of the Phoenix)

Favorite love-to-hate character?
Professor Umbridge

Favorite bad guy?
The Grand High Witch from The Witches by Roald Dahl.

I tag HipWriterMama, Little Willow, Sarah, Kelsie and Sookie. If anyone else would like to do it, please feel free--and make sure to let me know!

Character you'd most like to have over for tea?
I don't care for tea, but I don't think Anne and Diana from Anne of Green Gables would mind, as they'd want cordial instead. Let's compromise and have hot chocolate! :)

Character you'd most like to have as a sibling?
I love the sisters in All-of-a-Kind Family by Sidney Taylor.

Character you'd most like to be friends with?
Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables, Molly McIntyre from American Girl, Falkor from The NeverEnding Story by Michael Ende, Pantalaimon from His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman, Jenna from the Body of Evidence mysteries by Christopher Golden and Rick Hautala, Parker from The Bermudez Triangle by Maureen Johnson, the main characters from The Baby-Sitters Club by Ann M. Martin - I could go on and on!

Character you'd most like to have as a cousin?
Nick from The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, naturally. Please note, however, that I am not Daisy in any way, shape, or form! Molly McIntyre from American Girl and I would make believable cousins since we look alike. Same with Mary Anne Spier from The BSC.

Character you'd most like to have an adventure with?
Alice from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll, Bastian, Atreyu, and Falkor from The NeverEnding Story, and Pant, Lyra and Will from His Dark Materials.

Favorite quirky character?
I could go on and on with this list, but I'll stop after two: Tinker Bell from Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie and Ashleigh from Enthusiasm by Polly Shulman.

Favorite love-to-hate character?
I don't love to hate. I don't like to hate at all. I know, I'm overanalyzing the word rather than playing by the rules and the lightnatured term, so let's see. Perhaps Jasmine from Prowlers by Christopher Golden.

Favorite bad guy?
Gmork as depicted in the movie version of The NeverEnding Story is the only character that ever scared me repeatedly as a child.

This is very creative Erin. Great idea!

Character over for tea: Jo March from Little Women, although I don't think she'd stand for the formality. Maybe big cups of strong coffee would do the trick.

Character for sibling: I'd love to have Shug from Shug as my little sister. Ed Kennedy from I am the Messenger as my big brother.

Character for friends: Eugenides from The Thief, Penny from Penny from Heaven, Catherine from Rules, Liesel Meminger from The Book Thief, Jack from Shug, Miri from Princess Academy.

Character for a cousin: Frankie from Penny from Heaven,

Character for an adventure: Ella of Frell from Ella Enchanted

Favorite quirky character: Ruby Lu from Ruby Lu Brave and True, Uncle Dominic from Penny from Heaven

Favorite love to hate character: Hattie, Ella of Frell's wicked stepsister from Ella Enchanted

Favorite bad guy: Count Olaf from The Series of Unfortunate Events, The Witch from Chronicles of Narnia, Queen Ivi from Fairest.

I could go on and on with these!

There's more.

This is great Erin! If you don't mind, I'll include this in my next blog posting, it is so creative (I'll definitely give you a shoutout in there). I'm new at this whole blogging thing, just having started a book blog of my own, but I love yours! Always insightful, funny, and like this little meme, creative!
